help! key stuck and car won't turn on

I am stuck in a parking lot. I went to turn on my car and the first turn met silence as if the battery were dead. Then i found i couldn't take the key out. It can go from off to on to start, but not to lock position and the key won't come out. Battery is about a year or two old.
Perhaps this is related to 1 of two things i did this morning:

1. My sai valve is leaking and pump has water in it. I disconnected the easy connect house from valve to prevent further dripping into the pump. I drove like that today.

2. I disconnected the hose from pump side that brings in air and connected a shop vac to the tube up top near valve and blew air threw to get the water out of the pump, then attached house back on pump. I noticed water did get on some parts down there. Did i just get the starter wet and have it short out on me?

What can i do now?
