Hello all!
I bought this Saab over the summer to replace a Cougar with possible transmission issues, and seem to have gotten a little more than I bargained for. My radiator blew while idling in traffic, and I replaced it myself (little to no mechanical experience prior). I found, to my surprise, that the transmission runs through the radiator, and had to let some transmission fluid free in order to replace the radiator (caught it in the same pan I was letting the coolant collect in). After replacing the radiator, thermostat, and temperature sensor, I am able to move the car, and don't seem to have a coolant leak. I now cannot shift into second gear (stalls), and the brakes seem to be shot (not squishy, but I have to stand on them to get a real response).
Where do I fill my transmission fluid? I don't seem to have a tube that comes up like I see elsewhere. I have read that some require lifting the car and using a tube through the dipstick port, but I can't seem to find the right bolt to remove.
Also, would low transmission fluid cause this, and how great is the possibility that I did something bad to my transmission by driving it low on fluid? I didn't get the light saying that I broke it, but I just want to know what to be prepared for.
