Make 99 9-3 trans cable?

I read in an archived thread that I could take the cable actuator arm out of my 900 and put it in the 9-3 normally hydraulic trans. Is this possible?

And don't worry, I will make it hydraulic in the summer, but I need reverse NOW and don't want to take the time to fart around with the hydro pedal.
