Removing windshield washer hoses

I don't know if I'm not using enough "elbow grease" but I can't seem to slide the washer hoses off the nozzle. The cap on the bottom of the drivers washer nozzle fell off so I need to replace. After reading on the forum the very simple trick to removing the hood insulation clips I could easily see what the problem was.

Only thing is I can't get the hoses off. Anyone have any advice or tips?
