My oil pan has started leaking on two separate occasions after applying a thin bead of anaerobic (red jam) sealant.
Apparently I am incapable of correctly completing this task correctly... And I'd rather not practice it too many times...
SO I purchased a FelPro oil pan gasket for my 9-3..
Question: should I apply any sort of sealant to the gasket or is it meant for "dry" installation? The guy at napa told me he would apply a VERY thin layer of ultra black/gray (just enough to make the gasket tacky) and wipe off any excess.
Thoughts?
