Description:

1988 SAAB 900S 4 door sedan, 2.0 liter engine, automatic. Much work was done shortly before I bought it, including new distributor, plugs and wires, battery, radiator. Since I have owned it, I have also done upper and lower ball joints, passenger side CV axle, and front wheel bearings. I put 4 new tires on it about 2 weeks ago, and they have about 400 miles on them. They are on stock wheels. The car currently has a little over 123,000 miles. It's been a daily driver for the last year plus. I used it to commute about 45 miles every day. Comes with an extra set of SPG wheels. I made a couple mods to the dash, placing a cupholder from a Taurus in the original stereo slot, and the stereo in the location where some 900s had an equalizer.

As with all 25 year old Saabs, it has its issues:

-It uses a little oil. I have to add about a half quart every couple thousand miles. And it leaks a little power steering fluid.

-The neutral safety switch is a little finicky, and the gear selector needs to be shifted through all the gears and placed in neutral to start. I do have a replacement safety switch to go with the car.

-There are some cracks in the dash. I have a dash skin to go with it.

-It needs an alignment. After replacing the CV axle, the steering wheel is turned to the left about a quarter turn. If I were keeping it, I'd probably do control arm bushings too, just so everything up front is brand new. It's a pretty easy job.

I have a few other miscellaneous parts to go with it, and a couple old factory tools. I also have the driver side CV axle.

I am only selling it to downsize the collection a bit and focus on other projects.

Contact me via email or phone. Thanks.

This one's almost done. Just needs a new dash pad and a couple things on the a/c sorted out and it'll be perfect. #saab900 #saab #classicsaab by general gow, on Flickr

What #saab should have done. Cup holder in a #saab900. Stereo in the lower DIN slot, cup holder in the upper DIN. Now I've got tunes and coffee and all is right with the world again. by general gow, on Flickr
