Well, in order to try and keep my thread starting to a minimum, I'm going to kind of "journal" my time with my 9-5 here. Hopefully as the miles pass, it doesn't grow too large, yet at the same time it acts as a resource both for myself and other new owners that come on board!
First off, my 2006 9-5:

I've got some things to do, right off the bat:
THING 1: Learn the options/specs my particular car has.
One thing said I've got a 9-5 base, one thing said it's a 9-5 Sport. So there's some discrepancies to resolve, to go with the "what options/packages does my car have?"
Is it a 9-5 Sport with the Visibility Package? Base with Visibility? I don't know, and I'm having trouble figuring it out.
THING 2: Perform the 'general maintenance' that goes with buying a used car.
Not knowing when the last oil change and whatnot were, I figured I'd be going through the general list in a fairly short time frame.
THING 3: Fix/repair the 'minor niggles' I found when buying.
So far this list is short (and minor), but still annoying.
The dealer I bought it from will be ordering the screw covers, blanking plate, and seat trim for me for FREE as part of buying the car.
Park Assist doesn't show up on the SID. EVER. Backup lights work and there are 4 circular 'pips' in the rear bumper that seem to have wires coming from them, but not sure until I jack the car up and get underneath it in a serious way. Maybe the module is bad? Maybe it's not even plugged in? I don't even get an error on the SID, just...nothing.
Thanks to this forum and the search feature, I've found out that my minor oil leak is this issue:

Parts are inexpensive and not time-consuming or difficult to replace! I'll have to get on that when I've got time and a warm day.
Other than that, I'm enjoying every moment of the car.

- Seem to have Xenon headlamps
- Wheels are 17". Not sure of exact tire size right off top of head.
- 4 dots in rear bumper SEEM to show that Park Assist is installed
- Seem to have 9 speaker Harman Kardon 200W Stereo, but no H-K logo on rear deck grilles.
- Head Unit is 6 disc in-dash CD changer with XM option.
- Front and rear fog lights
- sun/moonroof
- 2.3t badge on trunk

- Oil Change
- Spark Plugs
- ATF Flush/Fill
- Air Filter
- Cabin Filter

So far this list is short (and minor), but still annoying.
- Screw covers missing from front door handles
- Small square blanking/cover plate missing over parking brake adjustment hole in center console
- Do I have park assist? I think so, but it's not working!
- Minor oil leak out of valve cover
- Passenger seat trim that holds the power adjustment buttons is broken
The dealer I bought it from will be ordering the screw covers, blanking plate, and seat trim for me for FREE as part of buying the car.
