A few years ago I replaced the rear brake pads on my 03. I've always felt that the braking wasn't very good with the car, but was adequate. Occasionally when it's cold and I first start the car, I have almost no brakes the first time I use them, but then they start working. Always seemed odd, thankfully has never created a problematic situation.
The other day I was looking at the brake pads as best I could with the wheels still on and noticed that the back pads need to be replaced, especially the passenger side. The front brake pads look almost brand new still, and there is very little wear on the rotors.
Typically shouldn't my front brake pads wear out a lot quicker than the rear? I've owned the car for a bit over 5 years now and don't recall ever replacing the front pads, yet the rear I replaced a few years ago.
Is it possible that my front brakes aren't really doing much?
