Engine missing only when A/C is on...any suggestions?

Hi all,

I've been noticing a problem lately, particularly because it's finally getting warm enough for me to need my A/C. Whenever the A/C is on, my engine seems to miss quite frequently. It happens on both acceleration and cruising, and in every gear. I don't think it's related to the outside temperature itself (which can point to DI), since I can get it to do it even at night when it's cool out. For the record, my plugs are the correct kind and are working fine. The DI cassette was replaced by the previous owner under warranty, though I can't vouch for how long ago that was.

When my car is sitting still and I have the A/C on, the engine revs up often. I feel like it revs up TOO often, kind of going up and down to accomodate the A/C. Rather than kicking on and revving higher when the A/C is on and then going back down when it's off, it's fluctuates back and forth. I'm not sure if this is normal. When I'm driving, I'm suspicious that the engine missing I'm feeling (particularly at highway speed) is a result of this engine rev going back and forth, taking power away from the actual drive.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this? For the record, I haven't noticed the problem at all when the A/C is off.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Sorry. 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero
