Hey guys,
I have a WiFi ELM327 module. On OBDII-compliant cars it works like a charm. I just telnet to it and send commands... With my Saab, no go: NO DATA, since it's a pre-2001 EU car.
My question is: is it possible to use this device to communicate with a pre-OBD Saab 9-5? (MY98 V6 Griffin, Europe).
Where do I find the commands I can use to retrieve RPM, speed, trouble codes, etc.? Or is this device useless for my car? (I can't tell you what pins are active on my OBD right now, will investigate)
My gut tells me that this information os not legally publicly obtainable... Some sort of proprietary Tech2 gibberish, I guess. But I want to know!
I'm not interested in any kind of sofotware. I want to know the raw protocol and write my own SW. Thanks for understanding and valuable replies!
