Pretty much, this came about because of a too much spare money and time :P.
My car (2001 9-3) is beyond stage 5, b205 with b234 guts, 18t, all brakes and suspension etc. but I want to build a 9,000rpm motor.
This will be a progressive (i.e. slow :)) build, the base motor is a b235 from a 9-5 aero. Rough plan is forged rods and pistons (0.5 over), complete balancing of internals and deletion of balance chain (balance shafts will remain, as they are more reliable than the plugs). Decked block and increased compression to around 10:1-11:1, larger valves, stronger valve springs, port head.
Other little things like head stud conversion, brand new bolt-ons, probably replace welch plugs, possibly an early b2*4 oil pump (pre 97).
I'll post updates as they happen, input appreciated.
Currently the motor is in transit, the seller (wrecker, good bloke) has guaranteed the crank to be straight, so first thing will be to rip the sump off and have that checked (if its bent he will give me another one). Next will be disassembly, and starting to plan a timeline.
