I have given in to the idea that the bearings are the problem with my oil pressure problem. My 99 2.3l with 175k miles runs fine. The problem is only after I drive over 5 miles or on the highway, the oil pressure drops and the light and alarm goes off when I let the car idle. If I keep the RPM's over 1k the problem doesn't occur. So I plan on replacing the bearing and seeing if this fixes the problem. The big question is can this be done in the car from below or should I pull the engine? If I pull the engine what else should I plan on replacing?
