The tube that goes into the back of the valve cover, the one I've had to ziptie in place (that sort of worked); anyone know the official name and what its purpose/function is?
Also, good news (I hope), I've received 4 of 5 parts I ordered. A check valve, gas tank o-ring, fuel pump relay, and fuel pressure regulator. The 5th yet-to-be-delivered is the CPS. I've posted on this forum before about the odd starting/not starting problems. It seems I'm not the only one with this ridiculous problem.
It sat from roughly June '12 to October '12 because it would turn over but not start. Managed to regularly get it started with starter fluid. Then all I had to do was push the throttle slightly to start it. Then it magically began starting with no "intervention". But, no, no self-healing Saab exists. It just as suddenly quit starting regardless of fluid, pedal pressure, temperature, wind speed, swearing, etc.
Then around November I went to check the fuel pump lines and snapped the white check valve. That's when I calmly stepped away while I could. Now that I've had plenty of time to read through the forums and get steady income I figured I'd replace the parts that have been involved with other guys' starting issues. If any of you have any pointers, tips, ideas, additional parts to replace, please let me know. Wish me luck, gentlemen.
