Well, time has come and I have had enough of my sagging front bumper lip. So instead of trying to reenforce the plastic bumper itself I decided to give it a face lift.
Enter the front air splitter. The primary function of this is (don't laugh) to give better ground clearance... Any aerodynamic advantage is secondary. It will not be a really big splitter, it sticks out only an inch and a half from the spoiler and is about half an inch thick. Its made of 15/32" plywood which will be resined using the fiberglass resin without the glass itself (do you think I should glass it?).
My issue is now mounting. Its hard mounted to chassis in 4 points and to the front mount intercooler in an additional two, but I feel this may not be enough. Any suggestions? The splitter does not stick out far enough to use turnbuckles, at least not on the outside...
