Hi guys,
today I was repairing an oil leak at the pressure sensor. To access it I had to disconnect the heater hose and the 2 plugs rear right of engine, one being the CPS.
I cleaned and lubed the terminals with electrical spray and let the engine idle for a while to warm up. After a few minutes I noticed the idle searching, dropping and returning to normal.
I took a drive, the acceleration was fine but at cruise there was a regular hesitation like a miss, and dropping back to idle it would drop way down to 400-500 rpm before climbing, sometimes stalling.
I've checked the vacuum hoses and they are ok, I replaced them all with new 2 years ago.
I cleaned out the lube from the connection thinking it might have been causing problems, to no improvement.
Does this sound like a CPS failure or am I missing something else?
Cheers, Dave.
