To those of you who are looking for the coils for the 2.8 engine, many places list them as not available or "out of stock".
Over a year ago I had the shop do my two rear coils when #3 was breaking up so I just made a call to check on the availability.
Last year I had them do a search for the Caddy engine and sure enough the NAPA truck was pulling up with them in about 20 minutes.
I really thought they would have listed them by now in their system via a cross match. Nope. So the fellow was nice when I suggested he try for a 2.8 Caddy. It took him a few minutes and after going through some 3 liter engines kept going till he came up with the 2005/2006 Caddy 2.8.
NAPA, had to request Caddy cross for 2.8, 1 in stock @ $67
Advance Auto parts does not list a Saab item but was very helpful and pulled the Caddy 2.8 up, one in stock @ $66.
National Parts Supply, never batted an eye (cross match), 1 in stock @ $77
Auto Zone ... Totally clueless and despite my urging to check for a 2.8 said that Cadillac's are 3.5 liter and I don't know what I talking about.
So the problem seems to be if you plan on doing a few, get set to hustle to a few stores, or for all six, plan in advance.
