91 900t a/c refrigerant help!

Hi all,

So I discovered the other day that my inoperable a/c in my 91 900 turbo hatch had already been converted to R134a by the previous owner! So I instantly got a big smile on my face. And, considering that it was 92 degrees today, I decided to go buy the belt (the belt was removed by the local independant Saab shop when they did my crank seal) and get the R134a and charge it in hopes that it worked. The clutch never kicked on before so it was 50/50 that it'd work. I charged it and suddenly **click!** the a/c clutch kicked on and its started blowing cooler air YAY!

My question is what should the R134a be charged to? The sticker on the car is of course for R12 and it says charge to 975g, I understand that R134a as a general rule should be charged to 10% less then the maximum R12 pressure however I'm not sure what PSI to charge it to since the sticker reads in grams. I charged it to the top end of the blue area on the gauge which is 45 PSI but it doesn't seem to be blowing all that cold... It's definitely cool but it's not cold, it seems much warmer that our Malibu. Is it normal for an R12 system thats been converted to R134a to not blow as cold or do I need to go higher then 45 PSI? I was nervous to overfill the system so I wanted to ask the you guys cuz when it comes to Saabs I'm a newb.

Thanks in advance all!
